This Almond Puff was a Christmas tradition my friend used to make every year. It is surprisingly simple to create, elegant, and beautiful. Almost all of the ingredients are always in my cabinet already. My spouse enjoyed the first time I made it myself. I intend to prepare it for his mother on her upcoming visit. It’s entertaining to share this.

Transfer 1 cup flour into a medium-sized bowl. Using a pastry blender or a fork, mix in butter. After adding two tablespoons of water, use a fork to mix the dough until it comes together. Separate into two spheres. On an ungreased baking sheet, pat dough into two long strips that are roughly 14 inches long and 3 inches broad. Put aside. |

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). |

Mix one cup water and half a cup butter in a pot. Heat to a vigorous boil. After adding a teaspoon of almond essence, turn off the heat. Add one cup of flour right away, stirring until the mixture separates from the pan's sides. Stir in the eggs little by little until thoroughly mixed. Spread over the two crusts on the baking sheet after dividing equally. |

In a small bowl, whisk together confectioners' sugar, 1 teaspoon almond extract, and a tiny amount of milk until smooth. If more milk is needed to create a pourable glaze, add it. Pour over the Danish, and if you'd want, garnish with candy sprinkles. |
